Our History
The Program was established in 2000 by the Administrative Office of Courts in response to the needs of the Madison County District Court judges. It operates in compliance with Rule 42 of the Alabama Rules of Judicial Administration.
The Mediation Program is part of the larger Alabama Judicial Volunteer Program. It is made
up of trained non-lawyer citizen volunteers who serve the Unified Judicial System of Alabama.
Judicial volunteers in Madison County mediate approximately 100 disputes each year in small claims court.
